HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

2018 i was the year i officially started blogging, Booked Unicorn came into reality.

Last year i was able to finish 122 books, I found new authors which i absolutely loved. But my reading quality was in the pits i was not enjoying reading anymore i became focused on finishing on finishing the GR challange, finishing ARCS before their due date.

I WAS RUSHING AND IT WAS SUCKING THE JOY OUT OF READING!!

So this year my Challenge is a slow and personal one.

TO READ SLOWLY..

I am Going to read 20 or less every quarter ( minimum 10 Maximum 20), in total i’m aiming for 40-60 books this year.  Another challenge for me would be

READ INTENTIONALLY

What this means is that i want my reading list to be more diverse, i will be reading more African books, Asian books , more books from different parts of the world,LGBT+ books, more non-fiction, the whole sha-bang

With everything i do this year i do it with the intention to educate myself and do better.

I hope you have a wonderful reading year ahead.

What are some of your reading goals let me know down in the comment?

As Always,

  1. I want to be more intentional with my reading as well and I think it’s wonderful that you’re making it a goal to read more slowly. It’s so easy to get caught up in the numbers and forget to really enjoy our reading. Good luck with your goals!

  2. These are some excellent reading goals. Reading should be enjoyable! When I see other readers rushing to finish books and participating in read-a-thons, I wonder if they actually enjoy that type of stress haha. I esp like your idea to read more slowly this year!
