Book Review: Descendant of the Crane

Divider (2)I had to take a nap before i write this review, so that i can process all my feelings.

I was given an ARC in exchange for a review. All my feelings, exclamations  and opinions are mine.

P.s: I  know i promised a run down of my TBR BOX but this one is more important okay TRUST ME. A review for one of the most anticipated books of 2019

Let me start of with this: Joan He is a freaking brilliant writer.

and lowkey works at break your heart headquarters

I wasn’t prepared, i am still processing my feelings and this is as raw as they come.

Title: Descendant Of The Crane

Author: Joan He

Rating: 5 heartbreaking stars

Genre: YA, fantasy

Publisher : Albert Whitman and company

Publication date: 4/2/2019

The plot in a Nutshell.

It starts of with a death, a death that causes the search for the truth.

Truth? Why, It’s a lie in disguise

-Two of the Eleven

The price paid for the truth, at the end of it all was it worth it?

Hesina becomes Queen as soon as her father dies, a death she believes is unnatural she lunches an investigation; she finds the truth alright, the truth that her kingdom is horribly sick from within.

She commits treason for the truth, she sacrifices herself for the truth bit at the end was it worth it?

Its easier for you to get a dragon than an honest person in court ( Incorrect Descendants of Crane)

She has a mysterious thief represent her at court, one who hides many secrets and holds a rod.

Be careful who you surround yourself with in court, your shadow could betray you.

Me and all my feelings

I wasn’t ready.

I wasn’t prepared for the amount of heartbreak, the plotting and THAT THING that happened.

Joan’s writing is well paced and calculated believe me when i tell you, you would not see it coming it.  At some point, shee i even suspected myself and i’m not even in the book.

I loved seeing how everyone grew especially Hesina, we meet a vulnerable little girl who at the beginning was hurting from her father’s death but at the end we meet a mature Queen in possession of the truth and determined to rid her country of its sickness.

The characters are original as the story itself, Descendant Of The Crane is worthy of the hype believe this one.

That’s all for this review i don’t want to spoil it for you.

As always
